A 43-year-old city man is facing charges including assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of counterfeit money.
The North Bay Police Service says after a woman was verbally accosted and fled the area Monday around 6 pm, her husband and the accused got into an argument a short time later on Pollard Avenue.
Police say the accused brandished what was later identified as a pellet gun and the victim fled in fear of his safety.
Officers then went to the accused’s residence and made an arrest.
They also seized three pellet guns and ammunition along with counterfeit American and Canadian money.
Police say the victim and accused are not known to each other.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
