A new exhibit is helping the White Water Gallery officially re-open in its new physical space.
The not-for-profit artist-run centre is now located at 159 Main Street East. The work of Costa Rican artist Marton Robinson is the gallery’s first public offering, with the show running from Aug. 26 to Oct. 21.
Officials say Robinson’s exhibition, Un Lugar Para Enterrarla (A Place to Bury), delves into the socio-political contexts implicitly embedded in urban and so-called “natural” landscapes.
The opening reception takes place from 3 pm to 6 pm this Saturday, with an artist talk at 5 pm.
According to its website, from 2020 to 2022 the gallery was without a physical location and adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic with most programming forced online.
