Three motorists charged with stunt driving in the area

The Ontario Provincial Police says it’s noticing an increase in stunt driving in the North Bay detachment area.

Three drivers were recently charged, including a 16-year-old from North Bay after a vehicle was clocked going over 144 kilometers per hour in a posted 60 zone on Trout Lake Road.

The OPP also says a 63-year-old Phelps resident was stopped on Trout Lake Road after a vehicle was travelling over 131 kilometers per hour in a 60 zone.

A 50-year-old Gatineau, Quebec resident was also charged for going over 153 kilometers per hour in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 63.

The vehicles in all three incidents were impounded for 14 days with all three driver’s licenses suspended for 30 days.

They each have court appearances in either September or October.
