Several local groups are marking International Overdose Awareness Day on Thursday.
Officials say the day is about raising awareness about overdoses in our community, commemorating those whose lives were lost and offering a safe space for those grieving.
An event is taking place from 4-7 pm on Aug. 31 at Leger Square, outside North Bay City Hall.
There will be guest speakers, information booths, Naloxone training, a rock painting workshop and more.
Groups involved include the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area, the city and several others.
