Canadore helping its students find a home

Canadore College says it is committed to helping all of its students find a home.

“Student housing is an issue every year for both domestic and international students,” states a release, which also says the College has been proactive in communicating with students, using a variety of platforms, since January 2023, about the need to secure housing.  “Each year, students delay making housing arrangements until the last minute.”

As of Thursday, 58 students were on the campus residence waitlist while the college is also helping 199 students secure off-campus accommodations through the housing and home share program.

“We encourage all students who are still seeking housing, and are not on our list, to contact the college at [email protected],” states the college. “General housing information can be found on our website at canadorecollege.ca/support/housing.”

Officials also say Canadore has created 120 new student housing beds for the fall 2023 semester with 90 more coming online by next fall.

The college says it also has additional capacity in the community along with emergency housing.
