Two new Community Safety Zones have been installed in North Bay.
One is on Lakeshore Drive near the Omischl Sports Complex and Sunset Park Public School.
The other is on Olive Street between Cassells Street and High Street, near Cassellholme.
New signs about the safety zone and speed limit reduction to 40 km/h have been posted.
Officials say the changes, which look to enhance public safety in the two areas, were approved by council in early August.
The North Bay Police Service says fines for violating the speed limit in a Community Safety Zone are increased.
