For the fifth straight month there has been a “notable to significant” year-over-year drop in the number of job postings in Nipissing District.
That from the Labour Market Group (LMG), which says 440 job postings were recorded in July.
It’s down nearly 20% from the same month a year ago.
“The month-over-month change decrease of -25.4% (-150) is likely a combination of seasonal trends with summer positions winding down and economic downturn effects,” states the LMG July Jobs Report. Just over 250 unique employers posted jobs in July.

With 20 positions posted, the top employer was Canadore College.
Health Care and Social Assistance was the top industry.
