Province investing $1.3M to reduce NBRHC wait times

The province is helping to reduce wait times at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

That’s according to Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP, who announced today that $1.3M in additional one-time funding is coming to the hospital.

“Our local emergency departments and healthcare professionals go above and beyond each day to attend to the needs of patients,” said Fedeli. “By investing additional funds to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, our government is demonstrating our support in delivering faster emergency care to our community.”

NBRHC President and CEO Paul Heinrich says this investment from the province will allow the Health Centre to further address the sustained pressures and capacity issues facing its Emergency Department. “We are pleased to receive this increase in emergency department funding, as it will improve our ability to maintain stable access to, and more efficient emergency services for our community.”

The Ontario government is investing an additional $44 million this year in 165 high volume and smaller emergency departments.
