A recommendation is coming to council Tuesday night from the Community and Recreation Centre ad hoc committee.
The committee is suggesting a $52 million limit to the project which would include the minimum functional programming.
Top priorities are two ice pads with space for 250 spectators, a dozen change rooms, a community space described as a ‘small boardroom’ and more.
Gone from the list entirely is a walking track.
The building must be designed to meet the Canadian Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building design standard.
Council set up the ad hoc committee to develop a recommendation after the tender for the original project came in about $20 million more than the estimated cost.
