The next phase of the Main Street rehabilitation project between Wyld and Ferguson Streets is getting underway this week.
City officials say crews will be pouring the concrete sidewalks right in front of the businesses on the 100 block of Main East.
They say it means pedestrian detour fencing is being relocated so people will be walking on the recently paved roadway until the concrete sidewalks cure.
Ramps will be set up to help pedestrians cross between the buildings and the boulevard while the concrete sidewalk is being prepared and poured.
After the sidewalks are done, pedestrian traffic will move back, and the road will be repaved and painted.
