A Northern Ontario lobby group is confident the province will win the court challenge of its spring bear hunt. Animal rights groups have challenged the pilot project in an effort to kill the hunt. But the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities believes the two year pilot will move ahead. FONOM says the hunt will help manage the bear population and reduce the number of incidents of bears looking for food in communities.
