Expect to see an increased police presence in the area of the Nordic Ski Club trails on Friday afternoon.
The North Bay Police Service says the Emergency Response Team is training at the club on Northshore Road.
“Members of the public should not be alarmed if they see officers wearing tactical equipment and carrying their police-issued carbine long guns in the area,” states a release. “Drones operated by members of the North Bay Police Service will also be in use during the exercise.”
The training takes place from noon until 4 pm with the trails being closed to the public, but not the roadway.
Police say the 12-member team uses specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations and high-risk incidents.
