A 47-year-old North Bay woman is facing assault and robbery charges.
The North Bay Police Service says just before 8:00 a.m. on Oct. 21, the accused attended a McKeown Avenue business in North Bay. Police say the accused approached the victim, an employee, and asked to purchase “several packs of cigarettes.” They add while the victim was distracted, the accused stabbed them multiple times with an edged weapon.
The service says witnesses at the scene responded by restraining the accused until police arrived.
The victim was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused’s been charged with:
- One count of Aggravated Assault
- One count of Carrying concealed weapon
- One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- One count of Robbery with Violence
She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
