Over $16.4 million in provincial funding is flowing to municipalities in Nipissing, including a slight increase for North Bay.
Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli has announced the 2024 Ontario Municipal Partnership Funding (OMPF) allocations.
The City of North Bay receives the bulk of the money, nearly $10.2 million.
That’s an increase of nearly $42,000 from this year’s allocation.
Mattawa and Powassan are each receiving over a million dollars with eight other communities also receiving funding.
“Our government recognizes the importance of the OMPF to communities across the province,” says Fedeli. “Predictable and timely financial support from the province is essential for budget planning for northern, small and rural municipalities.”
The province says the funding is unconditional and helps with local priorities and specific community needs.
