A city man has been charged after police warned about an individual who was falsely posing as a rideshare driver.
After issuing the warning on Friday, the North Bay Police Service says the 29-year-old was identified and charged on Tuesday with violating the city’s bylaw involving the operation of a Private Transportation Company vehicle.
The charge carries a $615 fine.
Police also retrieved the Uride decals that were being used.
City police are reminding the public, for their own safety, to verify the identity of their driver and vehicle information before getting into a taxi or rideshare.
