There’s still time for aspiring filmmakers to register for a local 48-hour film competition.
The inaugural event is taking place Nov. 3-5.
Filmmaking teams of all levels, from beginners to professionals are invited to create a short film within a tight 48-hour timeframe.
Officials say the twist is that they must reimagine a traditional folktale while infusing their film with their own contemporary vision.
“This event is not only a celebration of the incredible talent and passion that exists in our local filmmaking community but also marks a significant milestone for our festival as we host our very first competition,” says Sharon Switzer, Executive Director of the Near North Mobile Media Lab. “It’s a unique opportunity for local and emerging filmmakers to showcase their creativity and storytelling abilities in a fun and fast-paced environment.”
A panel of professionals will evaluate the submissions at the end of the 48 hours with the top three films showcased during the North Bay Film Festival Nov. 17-19.
Prizes include cash awards, equipment rental credits and more.
The deadline to register on the festival website is Oct. 27.
