Nipissing First Nation (NFN) and three Indigenous communities in Mexico are working together on increasing water resilience through rain water harvesting.
Officials say the project received $200,000 from the Commission for Environmental Cooperation.
As part of the project, a delegation from Nipissing First Nation visited Mexico in September to share information and set up the collaboration.
A Mexican delegation will visit our area next year to support the installation of three Rain Water Harvesting systems.
Officials say there’s also a survey for community members from Nipissing First Nation to better understand the past and current water situation and more.
