A timely reminder from Ontario Provincial Police with all the snow that fell on Tuesday.
The OPP says it’s the driver’s responsibility to take the time and completely clear the snow off their vehicles and make sure they can see in all directions before heading out onto the roadway.
They add officers can lay Highway Traffic Act charges if it’s not done, pointing out a buildup of snow on your vehicle, foggy or iced-over windshield and windows can drastically reduce visibility and cause a traffic hazard to other motorists.
With speed being the number one cause of collisions in snowy conditions, the OPP also says adjust your driving to the conditions, even with all-wheel drive, and slow down.
