Applications to North Bay Santa Fund now open

Applications for the 76th annual North Bay Santa Fund have opened.

Officials share it will remain open until Dec. 8, and can be made at santafund.ca, or in person at the LIPI offices on Main Street.

It’s the city’s largest and longest-running fundraiser and sees volunteers in the community provide toys to children and food to families who are in need during the holiday season.

“The number of smiles and joy we have spread over the years as a community is truly special,” shares organizers. “The longevity of this effort is a testament to the generous nature of North Bay. This year, we’re facing the same challenges as most. We’re constantly looking for ways to stretch every generously donated dollar. Thank you for keeping the Santa Fund top of mind in your holiday giving.”

Geoff Richardson, Santa Fund Co-Chair, says they’re partnering up with Canadore College again, with the school giving volunteers access to the Commerce Court Campus for packing (Dec. 22) and delivery (Dec. 23) days.

Fundraising for the event takes place in a variety of ways, including right here at Vista Radio – with CFCH 90.5 Country FM and CFXN 106.3 Jet FM both hosting 12-hour radiothons. Our radiothon will be on Friday, Dec. 8.

The “kickoff” to Santa Fund season will take place from 6 am to 6 pm, with both stations raising awareness and funds for the cause.
