The North Bay Police Service is going to need a new police chief.
Scott Tod has announced his retirement.
The police board says his last day will be in March.
Officials say he’s been chief since 2019, and served as Deputy Chief for three years before that.
Tod’s career spans four decades and includes serving as an officer in the Canadian Forces and joining the OPP in the early 80s.
Mayor Peter Chirico thanks Tod for his dedication on behalf of the city, adding he wishes him a future filled with family and adventure.
Police board officials say a hiring search is now underway.
