Local employers can now apply for Canada Summer Jobs funding.
Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming, says over the last two years, the program has contributed over $2.6 million to the riding, creating 777 jobs.
He says both our communities and the economy benefit from the program, which allows young people to have the skills and experience they need to join the workforce.
Applications can be submitted electronically on the federal government’s Grants and Contributions Online Services portal.
Rota says not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and private-sector organizations are encouraged to apply for funding.
