OPP seize $285,000 worth of suspected drugs and other property

Suspected drugs and other property worth about $285,000 have been seized by Ontario Provincial Police with the North Bay Detachment.

The OPP says residences on Johnston Road in North Bay and Nosbonsing Park Road in East Ferris Township were searched on Dec. 7.

Police seized suspected Fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth, Psilocybin, and Oxycodone pills along with a semi-automatic handgun, cash, cell phones, and other property.

The OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team, and uniform members were involved with the investigation.

Four people, including three from North Bay and one from East Ferris, were arrested.

A variety of drug possession charges were laid with three of the people also charged with firearms-related counts.

Police say three of the accused were scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in North Bay on Dec. 8 with the other person scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 9, 2024.
