A 60-year-old Bonfield resident is facing 18 firearms related charges.
The Crime Unit with the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) started an investigation on Jan. 2 following a complaint regarding possible firearms offences.
Two days later, the Crime Unit and Northeast Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) searched a residence on Grand Desert Road and arrested a resident.
Charges include careless use of a firearm, three counts of careless storage of ammunition and 14 breach of firearms regulation charges.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 10, 2024.
