The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 42-year-old man Friday in North Bay.
The SIU says preliminary information suggests a man was transported from the North Bay Jail to the court cell block on Friday morning, then suffered a medical incident later in the day.
“He was provided with medical care and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased,” states a release.
The investigation is ongoing with the SIU saying one investigator and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
