A North Bay great-grandfather has a great lotto win to celebrate.
Brian Esch won a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth over $52,000 in the December 23, 2023 draw.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) says he’s been a regular lottery player for over 30 years and won $1,000 on WINTARIO in 1980.
“I was at home when I checked the winning numbers online and recognized the numbers immediately. I was shocked. It was unbelievable,” he says. “I was just thinking I should stop playing these numbers because they never come up.”
Brian called his family to share his big news. “My kids asked if they could retire,” he laughed. “Everyone was so excited.”
He plans to share this win with his children and will consider purchasing a vehicle.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Cassells Street in North Bay.
