Mat Lesnick and Evan Smith have donated over 6,000 supplies.

“In the process of opening my training centre on Lakeshore Drive, I ended up having an abundance of supplies that I just didn’t need,” says Lesnick. “Which made me connect with one of my friends who works with ORNGE out of Toronto. He’s been to Ukraine four times already.”

Lesnick, who also works in pre-hospital care, says his friend reached out to see if they had any extra supplies.

The donations include jackets, uniforms, safety equipment and much more.

“We donated a bunch of stuff that will also be used in the operating rooms and surgical rooms, including a bunch of specialty kits that they desperately needed,” Lesnick says.

They include burn kits, stop-the-bleed kits and specialty trauma kits.

Lesnick says the supplies were packed up and loaded into a donated ambulance and then a Sea-Can, which is now making its way to Ukraine.
