Local Conservatives selecting their federal election candidate

We’ll know this weekend who will be representing the Conservatives in Nipissing-Timiskaming in the next federal election.

Local party members are nominating their candidate on Saturday.

Two people, Steven Trahan and Cassidy Villeneuve, are running to represent the Conservatives.

Saturday’s vote is taking place at the Best Western in North Bay with guest speaker Scott Aitchison, MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka.

“Support for Conservative party leader Pierre Poilievre is high across the riding with Pierre visiting twice since last summer,” says Gordan Rennie, President of the Nipissing-Timiskaming Conservative Association. “We are in a strong position to win the next election and bring needed relief to local residents suffering from the federal carbon tax, unaffordable housing prices and out of control inflation.”

The next federal election will be held on or before Oct. 20, 2025.
