The search for the next superintendent of education at Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN) is getting underway.

This after the board announced Éric Foisy will be retiring later this year.

Officials say he began his teaching career in 1990 and held various positions at École secondaire catholique Algonquin, École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Anne, and the board in North Bay.

He became superintendent of education in 2010.

“On behalf of the entire Franco-Nord family, I would like to thank Mr. Éric Foisy for his many contributions to French-language Catholic education, to CSCFN’s local and provincial reputation, and to the growth and success of our students,” says Serge Levac, director of education. “I am truly grateful for the magnificent work he has accomplished over his long career, and for his commitment to the Board’s vision, mission, and values. Mr. Foisy is a true leader in his profession. I wish him health and happiness in this new chapter of his life.”

Foisy officially retires on Sep. 1.
