Ringette East-West game promises team spirit, competition and fun

It’s a big week for the West Ferris Ringette Association.

The Ringette East-West Game is taking place Thursday evening at Pete Palangio Arena.

Players in the league are divided into team East or team West, depending on the schools they attend.

They take on players in their own age group, from U10 through U18/19 with the score continuing into the next game.

The winner is decided at the end of the last game.

Officials say the night promises to be full of team spirit, competition and fun. Four members of the association are also heading to Thunder Bay this week for the Ontario Winter Games, which run Feb. 16-19.

Adrie Johns will be playing for the AAA Team Green, Meaghan Spykerman is an assistant coach with AAA Team Black, Erin Johns is an assistant coach with AAA Team Blue, and Alex Parker is one of six on-ice officials.

The tournament is part of the Ringette Ontario U19 AAA High Performance program.
