City looking to once again draw thousands to the waterfront

It may be cold and snowy at the waterfront right now, but the city is already thinking ahead to summer.

Officials are planning the Summer Concert Series and Arts and Culture Nights on select summer nights at the waterfront.

Local performers, artists, and entertainers are being invited to apply to showcase their talents on stage at the Kiwanis Bandshell.

“Together, the Summer Concert Series and Arts and Culture Nights drew thousands of people to the City’s Waterfront, supporting and showcasing local talent for residents and visitors,” says Bryan Kimber, Community Development Coordinator. “We’re looking forward to another summer filled with these of events.”

Up to 15 acts will be chosen for the concert series and up to nine for the arts and culture nights, with compensation provided.

The deadline to apply on the city’s website is March 20 for both.

Concerts will take place on select Wednesday nights throughout July and August while culture nights are planned for Tuesday nights, starting in late June.
