Nearly $130,000 coming to Victim Services to help local youth heal

The province is investing over $1.4 million dollars to help support victims, witnesses and survivors of human trafficking and gun and gang violence. Locally, $128,000 is coming to Victim Services of Nipissing District.

Kathleen Jodouin, Executive Director, says the province’s support is imperative to the success of local programs helping children and their families heal after a traumatic event.
MPP Vic Fedeli, who made the announcement on Thursday, says community organizations do a great deal of work helping young victims of crime, and the money is part of the government’s ongoing work to support victims of crime, increase awareness of human trafficking and more.
Officials say the money will expand supports, deliver specialized training to staff, support community coordination and partnerships and more.
