Ukrainian families in North Bay marking war anniversary

Local Ukrainians are marking a grim anniversary on Saturday.

Feb. 24 is the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which officials say has displaced millions of people and killed hundreds of thousands, with no end in sight.

More than two dozen Ukrainian families have since settled in North Bay.

They’ll be gathering near the food court at Northgate Shopping Centre at noon on Saturday to sing and talk about the impact of the war.

They’re also calling for continued support to repel the Russians from their homeland.
