Gas has spiked in North Bay and other northern communities. Right now a litre of gas goes for around a $1.44 and that’s a 15 cent a litre rise. The huge increase comes while oil is still selling for about $100 a barrel. To put that in context, several years ago when North Bay gas hit an all-time high of a $1.40 a litre, oil sold for $140 a barrel.
