Algonquin Regiment training in Laurier Woods on Thursday

Local Canadian Army Reserve Units are training in multiple locations in Northern Ontario tomorrow, including North Bay.

The Algonquin Regiment will be conducting infantry training in the Laurier Woods Conservation Area.

Officials say most of the training will be done in the evening hours, adding the public may see Canadian Army Soldiers in uniform and with their service weapons, but no ammunition of any kind will be present. Military vehicles may also be seen on local roads and highways.

Officials say regular, scheduled training keeps our soldiers and units ready to respond to mission in Canada like floods and wilfires, as well as support international stability operations.
