$88,000 in funding is making its way to Chisholm’s Wildfire Recovery.
MPP Vic Fedeli says it’s to help recover from the wildfire which started in May of 2022, that burned over 30 hectares of land. It required fire suppression services beyond the municipality’s capabilities to protect residents and property.
Mayor Gail Degagne is thanking the province for the support, adding it will go a long way in alleviating the financial burden the township is facing after the fire.
This money is being provided through the Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance program.
