North Bay rallies behind downtown core

North Bay is rallying behind the downtown core after a early morning fire Tuesday morning.

Messages from downtown organizations and businesses came pouring in on social media after a fire broke out at 183 Main St. East shortly after midnight, and heavily damaged a number of businesses and left tenants without a home.

An official cause of the fire or an estimate of the damage has not yet been shared.

The fire affected nearly every business in a nearby radius.

The Cedar Tree Lebanese Restaurant owners shared they’ve received an overwhelming support and are grateful for the community’s kindness and understanding as they work through the weeks ahead, adding the restaurant will be closed indefinitely.

The North Bay Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic shared their downtown office will be closed for the rest of the week… though clients can reach them virtually or at the Lakeshore clinic.

On social media, Cecil’s and The Grande owner John Lechlitner shared they were fortunate to be able to remain open as clean up is underway, and he encouraged all of North Bay to support the businesses who were forced to close, and to support and build a strong and vibrant downtown.
