A flag raising at North Bay City Hall on Thursday marked the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force, coming up this Monday.

City Hall will also be lit up in blue for the occasion, along with 300 landmarks in 20 countries, and over 100 more across Canada.

All Canadians are also invited to illuminate our homes and businesses in blue.

This is the first of many commemorations of the RCAF’s centennial, paying tribute to those who served and continue to serve at home and abroad.  It’s also intended to set a new Guinness World Record for the most landmarks illuminated in a 24-hour period.
