Another locally developed board game coming soon

The local inventors of “The Game of THINGS…” and a North Bay resident have teamed up to launch a new board game.

“TRIPPED” is a rally across North America with promotion for a crowdfunding campaign starting this weekend.

Inventors Éric Boutilier, Mark Sherry, and Tom Quinn will be playing the game with customers at Creative Learning (181 Main St W.) on Sunday, April 21 from 11 am to 3 pm.

Boutilier says TRIPPED is like The Amazing Race meets Snakes and Ladders.

“You have a passport that you have to fill up with different city cards that act as stamps,” he says. You have different modes of transportation to get around including boats, trains, planes and roads. But there are also cards that you can use to slow your opponents down, so they don’t get too far ahead of you.”

Sherry says everyone they’ve introduced to the game wants to play again immediately.

“We’re really excited and it’s a great game,” he says. “This game is better than Settlers of Catan, [It’s] better than Ticket to Ride. We expect this game to sell millions.”

The crowdfunding campaign will begin at the end of May and anyone who pre-orders before the campaign starts will get a VIP discount and an exclusive “I got TRIPPED First” t-shirt.
