City replacing interlocking brick sidewalk near Lee Park

A section of sidewalk near Lee Park is being replaced.

The city says the existing interlocking brick sidewalk, located between Judge Avenue and the Kate Pace Way, and on Judge Avenue between Memorial Drive and the Lakeshore Drive Overpass, has reached the end of its lifecycle.

“It will be replaced with concrete sidewalk and asphalt boulevard,” states a release. “Concrete work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. Asphalt restoration is scheduled for May 9 and 10.”

The city adds drivers may experience minor interruptions while passing through the construction site.

Pedestrians are being encouraged to take Judge, Leask, and James avenues.
