You may notice police drone activity over the city on Tuesday (May 7).
The North Bay Police Service is taking part in drone training with its policing partners from Peel Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police.
“Drones will play an important role in the future of policing as they start to be deployed in certain circumstances,” says Deputy Chief Michael Daze. “Many police services through North America are implementing drones in different scenarios to increase officer safety and enhance other services, such as search and rescue operations.”
Officials say the drone program has already yielded positive results with the training taking place to further enhance the program.
