ReCycle Bikes Program returns

Discovery Routes is once again accepting donated bicycles for its ReCycle Bikes Program.

Through the program, which launched in 2015, bikes are tuned up and given back to North Bay and area residents in need.

Officials expect to hit 1000 donated bikes this year.

But they also say they need more than just bikes to keep the program running.

They’re seeking support from individuals and the business community, noting there is no government funding for the ongoing delivery of the program.

With a temporary workshop at Laurentian Ski Hill, the lower lodge is ready to accept bicycle donations, Wednesday afternoons (3 pm to 6 pm) from May 15 through to June 26.

Charitable receipts are issued for cash donations and, in the amount of $25 for each bicycle in good repair that is donated.
