There are mixed figures with the jobs report for Nipissing in March.
496 job postings were recorded that month.
“This marks the thirteenth consecutive month for which there was a year-over-year decrease in job postings,” states the Labour Market Group jobs report.
They were down nearly 9% from a year earlier.
However, the month-over-month change is described as a “significant” increase, with job postings up nearly 21%.
The number of unique employers was virtually unchanged.
The top five are:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Near North District School Board
- Voyageur Aviation Corp
- Ontario Northland
- District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board
Health Care & Social Assistance was the top hiring industry with nearly a quarter of all the job postings in March.
Retail Trade was a distant second followed by Educational Services.
