The June 19 event at the waterfront includes performances from the CF Snowbirds, CF-18 Demonstration Team and the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks Parachute team.

“Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the community to show its appreciation to the men and women who have and still are proudly serving in the Canadian Armed Forces,” says Mayor Peter Chirico. “We’re encouraging everyone to come out on June 19 and show their support for our military personnel.”

All activities and entertainment are free to the public with local students arriving at 10 am to listen to the 22 Wing Band, take in military static displays and more.

Displays will be highlighting the Algonquin Regiment of Canada, 33 Service Battalion, 22 Military Police Flight, Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence, United States Air Force and others.

“This will be the 12th year that the City of North Bay has hosted Armed Forces Day in person, where the community has come together to celebrate and show its support of our Armed Forces.,” says Honorary Colonel Jake Lacourse. “This year’s theme is to celebrate the Royal Canadian Air Force centennial.”

Memorial Drive will be closed from 7 am until 4 pm on June 19.
