June is Senior’s Month, and a free in-person seniors fair is taking place Saturday in North Bay.
The North Bay Parry Sound Stay on Your Feet Coalition is hosting the Aging with Confidence Information Fair at The Village at Canadore College.
Officials say there will be information booths to help older adults continue to live independently and remain social, and details on programs to support aging in place.
The event runs from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
“In 2021, adults aged 65 years and older accounted for nearly 25 per cent of all individuals in our Health Unit district,” says Sam Docherty, Community Health Promoter at the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. “Attending healthy aging initiatives like this information fair will allow individuals to age with confidence by becoming aware of programs and services available in our communities.”
Events are also lined up for Tuesday, June 11 (2-6 pm) at the Bobby Orr Community Centre in Parry Sound, and in Sturgeon Falls on Friday, June 14 (noon to 3 pm) at the West Nipissing Community Health Centre on Michaud Street.
