Belleview Park playground now open, all-wheel park officially opens Friday

The city continues to add new recreational amenities with the opening of a new playground last week and the all-wheel park set to officially open later this week.

On Friday, Mayor Peter Chirico and Councillor Justine Mallah, Chair of Community Services, gathered with City of North Bay Parks staff cut the ribbon on the new inclusive playground at Belleview Park on McGibbon Street.

Officials say portions of the play structure are fully accessible.

They add the park’s accessibility is enhanced through a new paved path and shade tables, which were funded by the Ontario Government’s Inclusive Community Grants Program.

Meantime, the city’s new All-Wheel Park at North Bay’s Downtown Waterfront will officially open Friday afternoon (Oct. 11 at 4 pm) behind the multi-use courts.

The city says it was developed through community consultations and guided by both the Downtown Waterfront Master Plan and the City’s Parks Master Plan.

Officials say the All-Wheel Park features a plaza-style concrete skatepark, pump track, social and event plaza, and container washrooms.
