The North Bay Battalion scored a 4-2 home ice win over the Owen Sound Attack on Thanksgiving Monday.
Owen Sound opened the scoring two minutes into the game before Jacob Therrien tied it up with just over four minutes left in the opening frame.
Coach Ryan Oulahen says it was a bit of a slow start for his team.
But, he says the last 45 minutes were really solid.
“I thought we were patient defensively, not giving up too much and then waiting for those opportunities to have those spurts and have those moments,” he says. “A really good start to the third period with some big time goals from some big time players.”
Ethan Procyszyn, Shamar Moses and Ryder Carey scored in the third.
Moses’ goal was his second in a Battalion sweater since being acquired from Barrie last week.
He joined the team on the way to Erie and has six points, including two goals and four assists in three games with North Bay.
“Pretty good stamp on every game that we’ve had him,” says Oulahen. “I’ve just thrown him into every kind of situation. His hockey sense is what impresses me the most. You see the ability. You see the talent.”
Moses also tallied in the shootout helping give the Troops the win Friday in Pennsylvania.
Next up, North Bay is home to Sarnia on Thursday night.
The Battalion will wear pink warm-up sweaters that night, with all proceeds from the jersey auction supporting Kevin Oschefski’s walk for the cure.
