The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says average snow depth in the area continues to be in the normal range.
However, it’s double the amount it was last year at this time.
“Average snow depth is 39.9 cm (normal), and average snow water equivalence is 85.0 mm (normal) for all sites,” says Angela Mills, NBMCA Water Resources Specialist. “In 2024, the average snow depth for the three sites was 19.7 cm and snow water equivalence was 52.3 mm.”
The measures snow depth and water content as part of its Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.
Snow is measured at three locations in the watershed, in North Bay, Corbeil and Chisholm.
