Mental Health Week includes events, training and wellness activities

‘Unmasking Mental Health’ is the theme for Mental Health Week, which takes place May 5-11.

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) North Bay and District and its partners have several events, training sessions and wellness activities lined up.

Officials say they’re being held to promote open conversations, reduce stigma and encourage connection and support.

“Masking, whether conscious or unconscious, is a coping mechanism,” says Mary Montgomery, COO of CMHA North Bay and District. “This year’s theme is a reminder that we should all be free to be our true selves and get the support we need. By unmasking, we give others permission to do the same, fostering a society of connection, understanding and acceptance.”
