École secondaire catholique Élisabeth-Bruyère student Paisley Nadon is venturing from Mattawa to Regina, Saskatchewan later this month.
She’s off to the national Skills Canada competition after winning first place in the Skills Ontario pastry-making competition.
The student trustee at Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord also placed third in the Excellence Award for top-ranked Francophone competitors.
The board is congratulating all participants in the Skills Ontario competition held in Toronto last week, May 5 and 6.
“We are very proud of your commitment, passion, and determination in the skilled trades. You are a true source of inspiration,” states a release. “We’d also like to thank both Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program for providing Franco-Nord students with this unique and rewarding experience in the skilled trades.:
