The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the Mattawa River and its tributaries, as well as the La Vase River.
Tributaries to the Mattawa River include North River, Kaibuskong River, Amable du Fond River, Sharpes Creek, Pautois Creek, and Boom Creek.
“Water levels along the Mattawa River and its tributaries are high after significant and intense rain in the past few days. Water Levels are also high along the La Vase River,” says Angela Mills, NBMCA Flood Duty Officer. “Water levels have generally peaked but are anticipated to remain high as the water drains through the watershed.”
The Conservation Authority also says the Corbeil Conservation Area is closed because of flooding on the trails.
